General Data Protection Regulations

January 30, 2018

GDPR: Everyones talking about it, but what is it and what do I do?

The new General Data Protection Regulations were agreed early 2016 and in short have been designed to reform the legal framework for ensuring the rights of EU residents to a private life. All businesses that handle customer data will need to apply and adhere to the new regulation, which are set to be enforced no later than the 25th May 2018.

It has been designed to enable individuals to better control their personal data. It is hoped that these modernised and unified rules will allow businesses to make the most of the opportunities of the Digital Single Market by reducing regulation and benefiting from reinforced consumer trust.

We will be supporting our customers through this process. If you need any advice please contact the office on 0115 784 4664
